I'm sure I'm not the only one to have a Bad Beat story, but they do seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment. The latest one happened in a league game down at my local. I was sat on big blind and was down to heads up against the small blind, I had 7-JOS and the small blind had 3-6OS. I call and the flop brings 9-7-3. I make a bet with middle pair trying to get the SB off the hand, he calls and the turn brings nothing, then the River comes and he hits trip 3's! fair enough I thought, lost a quite bit, got unlucky, no biggy!
The very next hand with the very same player I had A-J, he had J-3, I went all in, and for some reason he called, probably felt sorry for me for getting lucky in the previous hand, anyway cards are on the backs and I'm dominating him (or so I thought). The flop comes down A-10-3, Pair of Aces against a pair of 3's, the turn brings nothing so it's down to the river, the only card he can beat me on is another 3... on the River again! No chance I thought, until the card was turned, another 3! So I got done twice in 2 hands by the same player who tripped 3's on the river Twice.
Ah well, there's always next week!
